The BBC article talks about this same concept of mirror neurons that has been further studies by Ramachandran who conducted a pilot study on people with phantom limb syndrome, where amputees claim to feel an itch or extreme discomfort in their amputated limb (Hegarty, 2011). The concept of mirror neurons, which are neurons that show activity when you are doing a certain task but also when you see someone else doing the same task. ![]() ![]() From the chapter on perception the experiment done by Rizzolatti on monkeys really stood out to me. ![]()
